Whether you’re here solo or sharing it with friends, Stockholm has a way of making everything feel beautifully curated, from the cafes to the cobblestone streets, and it’s a city you’ll want to return to again and again.

I went in late November, over Thanksgiving, with my closest girlfriends and it was one of those trips that was so good I barely took any photos. Not because it wasn’t beautiful but because we were too busy actually living it. Speaking of living it up…
One of the memories from this trip that we still laugh about to this day is actually from the day we left. We’d gone out the night before (knowing full well we had a 5am wake up for an early flight) and somehow still decided to make it a really good night…I mean it’s Stockholm, can you blame me? The next morning, I was not…thriving. I had the middle seat, I was holding on for dear life during takeoff, and the second we were in the air, I sprinted to the back of the plane.
After I came out of the bathroom, one of the flight attendants asked if I was okay and instead of admitting I was just extremely hungover, I panicked and told her I was in my first trimester and the morning sickness had me down bad. Which was absolutely NOT true. I also couldn’t even tell you if getting sick happens in the first trimester or the second — I truly know nothing about pregnancy, obviously.
From that moment on, they treated me like royalty. I sat in the back of the plane the entire flight, they brought me snacks and ginger ale nonstop, and they even helped me take my bags off when we landed 🙈 At one point, the pilot came back to check on “our extra passenger” 🙃
So no, I wasn’t pregnant…I was just a very hungover girl leaving Stockholm. ANYWAYS, don’t be like me and definitely go to bed at a reasonable hour before your flight back and drink your electrolytes if you do find a fun place to go out!
That being said, I’m sharing all of my Stockholm favorites! Where to eat, where to drink, and what to do because it’s easily become one of my favorite cities in the world.

Here’s how I’d spend a few days in Stockholm:
DAY 1: Old Town magic + iconic Swedish eats
Morning — Socker Sucker ☕🥐
Start your first Stockholm morning the right way: Socker Sucker. It’s tiny, stylish, and effortlessly cool and exactly what you want when you’re easing into travel mode. Grab a coffee and a pastry, sit by the window, and romanticize your life while people-watching.

Late Morning — Get lost in Gamla Stan
After breakfast, wander into Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s old town. You’ll find cobblestone streets, colorful medieval buildings, tiny boutiques, and little hidden courtyards. This is the kind of place where you don’t need a plan. Just walk, take photos, and let yourself be fully in the moment!
Lunch — Meatballs for the People
You cannot come to Stockholm without eating Swedish meatballs. Meatballs for the People is iconic for a reason. It is comforting, flavorful, and perfect for a Swedish lunch. Order the classic meatballs with lingonberries and mashed potatoes and prepare to be emotionally healed.

Afternoon — Stockholm Subway Art Tour 🚇
Now for something uniquely Stockholm: the subway art tour. The metro here is basically an underground art gallery with colorful murals, sculptures, and dramatic cave stations. It’s cheap, fun, and such a cool way to explore different neighborhoods while staying cozy inside.
Drinks — Pharmarium 🍸
Head back toward Gamla Stan for cocktails at Pharmarium, a dreamy, apothecary style bar hidden behind a discreet door. The drinks are creative, beautiful, and delicious. It feels intimate and mysterious in the best way.

Dinner — Basta 🍝
For dinner, go to Basta. This Italian spot is warm, lively, and feels like being invited into a friend’s chic European apartment. Order pasta, a glass of wine, and soak in the cozy energy.
DAY 2: Södermalm, fika & comfort food
Morning — Södermalm District ☕🛍
Spend your morning exploring Södermalm, Stockholm’s artsy, cool-girl neighborhood. This area is full of vintage shops, record stores, cute cafés, and scenic viewpoints. Walk slowly, pop into shops, and let yourself wander with no pressure.
Midday — Fotografiska (Fotogrisfika) Museum
Head to the Fotografiska Museum, one of Stockholm’s coolest cultural spots. Even if you’re not huge into photography, it’s beautifully curated and super inspiring. Grab a coffee upstairs and enjoy the view over the water.
Dinner — Thai Boat
For dinner, go to Thai Boat! A cozy, Thai spot that locals love. It’s comforting, casual, and perfect when you want something warm and flavorful. Also it’s on an actual boat, so that was fun!

DAY 3: Scenic views & a chic final dinner
Morning — Coffee + exploring
Stop by Lillebrors Bageri for one last proper Swedish fika moment. This place is famous for its pastries especially the cardamom buns, which are basically a Stockholm must.

Dinner — The Hills 🌿
End your trip with dinner at The Hills. It has a stylish and effortlessly cool energy. The food is creative and fresh, and the vibe is perfect for a final night reflecting on your trip. I do caution to limit yourself on the dirty martinis in case of an early morning flight 😬

Stockholm gave me everything from incredible food, to beautiful streets, unforgettable nights, and yes… even a very dramatic goodbye. And that’s exactly why it will always be one of my favorite cities in the world! Highly recommend Stockholm for your next solo or girls trip 🩵
