While living in Germany, one of my favorite things to do was jump in my mini coop and drive a few short hours to France. The nearby cities like Metz and Strasbourg were my favorite for a change of scenery, French food, and good shopping. Strasbourg is beautiful during the spring and also has one of my favorite Christmas markets during December. If you’re exploring France - I would definitely add Strasbourg to your itinerary and check out some of my recommendations.

How I’d Spend the Day ☀️🍃📷
Start your morning getting lost in La Petite France, crossing little bridges and checking out the half-timbered houses on the canals. After that, make your way to the breathtaking Strasbourg Cathedral to climb the tower for city views. Pause for a relaxed Alsatian lunch and check out the menu of local crisp. Once you’ve eaten and you’re recharged, check out the boutique shops around Place Kléber. In the afternoon, rent a bike or take a boat cruise along the Ill River. For the evening, make a reservation at any of the restaurants I listed above and settle into a cozy night of delicious food and of course, more wine.

Final Thoughts
Whether you’re in Strasbourg for the history, the food, or simply to wander without a plan, this city is truly special. I’ve made some really special memories with friends and family here in Strasbourg and hope you do too!
