You know those Copenhagen girls on Instagram and Pinterest? The ones who turn a chunky colorful sweater, a messy bun, and a bike ride into a whole lifestyle aesthetic? Turns out, it’s not just them. The entire city looks like that, haha. I've visited Copenhagen twice now—once in the summer and once during the Christmas season. I've concluded that Copenhagen in the fall and winter is basically one giant, cozy, effortlessly cool vibe. So here’s my take on a Cozy Christmas Itinerary in Copenhagen! Good food, pretty streets, and all the must-see spots that make you feel like you accidentally stepped into someone’s perfectly curated holiday feed.
Logistics & Stay:
You’ll fly into CPH & then after you step off the plane take the metro in the airport (line M2) which can get you into central Copenhagen in about 13-15 minutes.
Hotel Option - NH Collection Hotel https://www.nh-hotels.com/en/hotel/nh-collection-copenhagen
AirBnB Option - https://www.airbnb.com/l/xEA7S4bB
Day 1:
After you drop your bags & check into your hotel, head over to Nyhavn - Copenhagen’s most iconic waterfront area with a Christmas themed market!
They’ll serve gløgg at the stands which similar to the German Glühwein but Danish gløgg is often richer and typically made with red wine, spices, sugar, and usually served with raisins and chopped almonds (I was a little surprised when I found raisins at the bottom of my cup so fair warning if you're not a raisin girlie).
Also, Nyhavn is stacked with cafes, bars, and restaurants. It’s touristy ngl, but perfect for the off the flight promenade (been watching too much Bridgerton), a coffee, or an outdoor drink when the weather is nice.
After spending the afternoon at Nyhavn you’ll want to make dinner reservations at @ Vaekst. This Michelin resturaunt gives you the experience of dining outside 'inside'. There are plants, garden furniture, and even a full sized greenhouse in the center of the room. It is a fresh & light take on Danish favorites that are full of flavor. I cannot recommend this place more! I still dream about the tasting menu here.

Day 2:
Coffee & pancakes @ Ø12 Coffee & Eatery (https://www.12cph.dk)
Grab a pint @ Brus (https://tapperietbrus.dk/)
Lunch @ Baest (https://www.baest.dk/)
Head over to Tivoli Gardens for the rest of the afternoon & evening! Tivoli is the second oldest amusement park in the world. They turn the gardens into a Christmas market with rides, delicious food, and more gløgg! (I had so much fun there that I did not pull out my phone once so I have zero pictures of the gardens but you can visit their website here and buy tickets - https://tivoli-gardens.copenhagentickets.com/)
If you don't want to do dinner at Tivoli, make a reservation at @ Cleo which has a small menu, super vibey, and delicious! (https://restaurantcleo.dk)

Breakfast @ The Packhouse (http://thepackhouse.dk/en/)
Book a spa day @ Manon Les Suites Spa! You can pay 70 euro for a 4 hour day pass which is an absolute steal for the quality of this spa (https://guldsmedenhotels.com/spa-day-pass-at-manon-les-suites/)
OR rent a wood fire hot tub at @ Copenhot...you're able to hop from the sauna to the hot tubs to the cold plunges. This is a must and a unique experience to Copenhagen. It is a little out of the way but definitely worth it! (https://copenhot.com)
After a relaxing cozy day, I like to head back to the hotel before dinner to chill, have some snacks, watch a movie, and get ready for dinner with some prosecco but that's just me, haha.
Once you're refreshed and recharged head to @ Pompette for pre dinner drinks...which actually fun fact, this was a recommendation I took from Dua Lipa after one of her interviews! (https://etteetteette.dk/pompette/)
Make your dinner reservation @ Esmee which is perfect for a girl's night out because the dinner scene turns into a vibey bar scene with great music (https://esmee.dk)

So, there you have it! A little guide to experiencing the magic of Copenhagen during the holiday season. Whether you're wandering through markets, sipping on gløgg, or simply enjoying the delicious food scene, there’s a certain charm that makes Copenhagen a must visit destination during the holidays. SooOoo...on that note, this post made me miss Cope A LOT so brb booking another flight. Text you when I land!
